Online Medical is a web design and development company run by doctors for doctors and allied health professionals. It was started in 2010 by Dr Andrew Renaut who at the time was frustrated at the lack of expertise in local web development companies when it came to having a website for his own specialist practice. The company has now developed over a hundred websites for fellow specialists, GPs, dentists and allied health professionals. Online Medical staff are fully cognisant of the specific needs of the medical industry.
We are able to service clients nationally – with clients in major metropolitan areas across Australia. Our head office is in Brisbane, with virtual offices in Sydney and Melbourne.
We employ talent across a number of specialist disciplines, including web designers with UX/UI specialisation, photographers, copywriters, SEO / SEM specialists.
Andrew Renaut – Director
Dr Andrew Renaut MS(Lond) FRCS(Gen) FRACS FDSRCS
Andrew is a specialist colorectal and general surgeon, as well as a medical entrepreneur with a keen interest in multimedia and e-health. He has trained as both a Surgeon and a Dentist, so has a detailed understanding of the issues pertaining to both fields. He brings extensive health-related multimedia production experience and medical knowledge to the company.
Andrew has established several web-based businesses, including Videosurgery, a video production company and professional networking platform for surgeons. He is passionate about education and holds academic appointments at both Bond and Griffith Universities and at Shandong and Jiangnan Universities in China.
He is also founder and director of the Australian Institute of Medical Education, a not-for-profit online forum for medical students, nurses and GPs.
Bruce Abel – Digital Operations Manager
Bruce has a range of experience that contributes to a robust understanding of the process of taking a website from an idea to a practical functioning live website. His background is in graphic design, with many years of experience in design studios and advertising agencies.
More recently he has concentrated exclusively on the digital space. He has a good understanding of ever evolving web technologies and best practice methodologies. He has a solid understanding of user experience principles, interface design and site development.
He has the ability to clearly communicate across disciplines, so can determine client needs, discuss style and usability issues with designers and coding issues with web developers. Bruce takes a great deal of pride and satisfaction in facilitating high quality work.
Aaron Duxfield – Project Manager
Aaron has multi-disciplinary training as a Graphic Designer and Web Developer. He brings experience in Graphic Design, Website Design, UI/UX and Website Development to every project. This experience allows him to bring websites to life in a modern and sophisticated manner.
He is happy to work closely with clients to guarantee they are happy with overall customer experience and the completed website.
Aaron has worked at a variety of organisations reneging from large corporations to smaller agencies. This experience provides a balance view of industry requirements and expectations for best practice. Aaron’s passion for the Web means he is up-to-date with the latest features and trends and understands how and what is suitable to implement for a client site. His interest in User Interface Design benefits the overall user experience.
Liana Peenze – Administrator and Accounts
Liana has extensive experience in customer service and administration. She provides administration support and ensures the smooth day-to-day running of the office.
Liana is the person to talk to about all billing related matters, such as project costs, website hosting, domain registration etc.
Before joining the online medical team Liana worked in the travel industry for 10 years as a corporate travel consultant and also a product manager. For the past 4 years she has worked in various medical and specialist practices.
